About Us
Brian McCann is a life-long animal lover. He knows that the devotion that animals give to humans is a true gift. In addition to the various pets Brian has loved over the years, he was fortunate to work with his beloved guide dog, Julie, for a little over ten years.
Shortly after Brian and Julie were matched as a team, Brian adopted a four-week-old puppy who was found abandoned on the side of the road by a young girl and her mother. While these two fell in love with the tiny creature, they were unable to keep him. When they gave him to Brian, the little girl made him promise that he would keep the name that she had given to the puppy-Chubbles.
Brian, Julie and Chubbles shared twelve amazing years together. From moving all around the United States to surviving natural disasters, adding, and losing, members of their family, and so many more life experiences, these three were bonded to the core. While Julie worked hard to keep Brian safe, Chubbles or “Chubs” as he was nicknamed was never too far away. When Brian and Julie were off the clock, Chubs took his place by Brian’s side for long walks, thousands of games of fetch, quiet evenings enjoying the breeze in their yard, and everything in between, they made memories that will never be erased.
They welcomed Brian’s wife Danielle into their pack in the spring of 2016. Danielle was matched with her guide dog Schulz in2017. Schulz retired for medical reasons, so Danielle brought her current guide Cammie home in 2023. To round out the current crew, the McCann’s adopted two cats, Waverly and Cyrus. In June of 2021, after living a beautiful life of service and adoration for Brian, Julie crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Six months and four days later, Chubbles joined his big sister in paradise.
It is in honor of his beloved sidekicks that Brian decided to create high quality treats for dogs and cats. Brian believes that only the absolute best ingredients should go in to the treats that we give to animals.
Chubbles “Chubs” Felix McCann
My name is Chubbles, but my dad Brian calls me “Chubs”. I almost didn’t make it. When I was tiny, someone threw me away in a bag on the side of the road. Thanks to a mom and her daughter, I was saved. They were unable to keep me, but it worked out because they gave me to Dad who gave me a fantastic life.
I spent my days happy and safe and loved so much! Dad and I would take long walks everywhere. My favorite thing to do was to collect sticks on our adventures and carry them with me as we walked. I met so many people in my life, and everyone said that I was a pretty great guy. One of my specialties was taking care of my humans if they weren’t feeling good. I would lay with them without moving, even if it meant skipping meals and my long walks. My heart was bigger than the whole sky.
I joined my big sister Julie on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge a few years ago, but I am still around. My family keeps my memory alive by remembering all of our good times and now, Dad is making treats for other good boys and girls to enjoy!
Dad wanted to name his shop after me so that others would know how much he loves me.
Princess Julie Belle McCann
Since I was a baby, I knew that I was supposed to have a very special job. I was raised and trained to be a guide dog. This meant that I was in charge of keeping a whole person safe. I took this job very seriously during training, and when I met my dad Brian in 2009, the work meant that much more. Everybody said that Dad and I were a perfect match. My dad was the single most important thing in my entire world. I made sure he was safe from harm throughout my entire career. I worked for about ten years, and then, I retired and lived out my golden years being spoiled. He worked so hard to show me how much I meant to him.
When I was fourteen, I made my way across the Rainbow Bridge. My body doesn’t hurt anymore, and my brother Chubs and I make sure to look in on our family when we can. I know that my dad will pour his whole heart in to the treats he makes for other dogs and cats, because he puts his heart in to everything he does. I know he named the company after Chubs, but I’m sure he will name something equally special after me, his one and only Princess Julie.
Schulzman Walter Shannon McCann
Hi there! I’m Schulz! When my mom and dad got together, I was the first new addition to the crew. I learned the ropes from my big brother Chubs and big sister Julie. Chubs taught me all about playing fetch, peeing while standing up and other bro-things. And Julie? She taught me how to be a really great guide dog which is what I did for my mom Danielle for five years. When I was six, I got sick and had to hang up my harness. I have tummy troubles and pain in my arms and legs, so my parents have to be super careful with what they feed me. Even my treats need to be specially made.
This is why I’m excited that my dad is creating homemade treats! I know he will make them yummy and safe for me, and other dogs and cats with food sensitivities.
Cammie Rose McCann
Hey! My name’s Cammie and the only thing I love more than my job as a guide dog is food! I keep my mom safe from obstacles while we’re working, but I do this just to kill time until my next treat or meal. It’s very important that I stay fit for my job, so you better know that my dad keeps this in mind when he’s making up those scrumptious recipes of his!
I really hope that other guide dogs get to try his creations, because I have and let me tell you! They are wag-worthy!
Waverly Jordan Caterina McCann
After having dogs for approximately six million years, the humans finally wised up and added a cat to their pack in 2020. This was a smart move, but what made it a legendarily genius move was that this cat happened to be me.
I’m a quiet, picky girl. Most treats and food bore me. Brian knows this and he’s pulling out all the stops to make sure to create things that even I will love.
Cyrus Rutherford Beene Omarion McCann
Hello! I’m the newest member of the McCann pack! My parents adopted me from a rescue in late 2025. I was a very tiny kitten, so they knew they had to make sure that I started to get good food so that I can grow up to be the fine feline specimen that I know I’ll be. My parents noticed that I like to eat both dog and cat treats, so my dad had this idea to make treats that are safe for all my siblings and me. I like being his little helper in the kitchen and I promise, everything he makes is approved by me and the rest of the guys here at Chubs Pet Treats.
